Tragedy in Norway


Oslo Bomb Blast

  • In a chart constructed for the moment of the bomb blast, the Ascendant is right on Norway’s Mars. Mars is the planet that you would most expect to be involved in any situation involving anger and violence.
  • At the time of the blast, Mars was 21 Gemini, the same degree as Pluto in the Norway ‘birth’ chart. A Pluto/Mars conjunction represents intense, transformative energy.
  • The transitting North Node was 21 Sagittarius – opposite Mars in the event chart and Pluto in Norway’s chart. The North Node represents a spiritual point in the chart and indicates qualities that energize and inspire. The point opposite is the South Node and represents the past. Transits conjunct the South Node trigger events that can pull us back.


Norway Natal and Solar Return

  • The Solar Return is ruled by Mars square the Moon which represents, in a national chart, the heart of the people.
  • Pluto, the planet of dramatic transformation is at the top of the chart, conjunct the mid-heaven. In a Solar Return, the angles are very significant as are any planets next to an angle. Pluto is square to Uranus representing the shock and the realization that everything is changed.


Norway Natal and Secondary Progression

  • The Secondary Progression is a chart that represents an aging of the chart by one day per year since birth.
  • The most useful point in the Secondary Progression is the Moon that moves about a degree per month and through a sign in 2 1/2 years.
  • SP Moon is in the Eighth house, the house of death and transformation and is conjunct Pluto in both the SP chart and the Natal chart.

Norway Natal and Solar Arc

  • The Solar Arc Progression is another method of aging the chart and adds almost a degree per year to all the points of the Natal chart.
  • The Solar Arc Ascendant/ Descendant axis has progressed so that the Descendant is now conjunct Pluto in the Natal chart. This indicates a period of a few years of dramatic transformation of the ‘personality’ of Norway.

    Dayel Kirk has a fun freebie on her site, The Reluctant Astrologer. She gives you the astrology of your address. She takes only the number from your address (no street name) and assigns it to the 360 degree zodiac. If you live in an apartment, only the apartment number is used, not the street number.

    If you are a numerologist, you will find using the zodiac degree a very interesting addition to your number meanings.

    My address number corresponds with 14 Pisces. Dayel describes this as:

    A Pisces address is a place for rest or escape, relaxation, regeneration, creative expression, spiritual pursuits or solitude.

    At this address, I have cared for elderly parents, started a small theatre and this blog, studied various religious texts, delved into spirituality, and found a great deal of solitude. It’s much more relaxing than my previous address (perhaps too much so) and has recently been certified as a wildlife habitat.
