Al and Tipper Gore – Going their separate ways after forty years

THE BIRTH CHARTS

Both of the Gores are currently experiencing dramatic transits that affect their relationship:

Al Gore has Pluto conjunct his Moon, an influence that occurs once in 248 years. This is a powerful period of emotional rebirth and, since the Moon represents all we are at a core level, many things in Al Gore’s life will change, particularly his relationship with women, his home, and what he needs for emotional comfort.
Tipper Gore’s Seventh or relationship house is ruled by Saturn. This means that there were karmic conditions connected to her choice of marriage partner. Neptune is now opposite Saturn in her chart, a once-in-84-year influence that ‘dissolves’ these conditions. This is ultimately freeing but can be very disorienting as Saturn feels like our realty .

THE RELATIONSHIP

The relationship chart is the chart created for the mid-point in time and space between the two natal charts and can be used for timing events, just as each individual chart can be used.

Before going retrograde, Pluto had moved to oppose Mercury in the relationship. In this case, Mercury not only represents communication, but both rules and occupies the Seventh or relationship house.
The Solar Return for the relationship has Pluto on the Nadir, squaring the ascendant/descendant and opposing the mid-heaven, indicating a transformation of literally everything in the relationship.
Just in case there is any doubt, Uranus, the planet that also represents dramatic transformation is on the descendant of the Solar return, square the mid-heaven/nadir and opposite the ascendant, again changing literally everything in the relationship.
A point of interest that perhaps only astrologers will find fascinating is that the ascendant, descendant, mid-heaven and nadir are all ’0′ degrees of a cardinal sign. It truly is time for new beginnings!

The relationship that the Gore’s have experienced to this point is over. It needs to re-form, encapsulating all of the new energies in each of them and in the relationship itself.

Sandra Bullock & Jesse James – with a warning

This weekend (in one of those synchronistic occurrences that get astrologers all excited) I found the birth data for James on the same day that I discovered that my new Solar Fire software did a wonderful job of synastry analysis AND noticed that today is Jesse James birthday! (Happy Birthday Jesse!) I have had all of Sandra’s charts sitting on my computer for a month but I just couldn’t get myself to write about her and the current unfortunate situation. Maybe this is what I was waiting for.

A synastry analysis is one of many relationship techniques. It shows the positive aspects and the challenges in a relationship. Many of the elements appear contradictory but all are valid and are emphasized at different times.

Romance is a major theme in a union that involves the Moon and the planet Neptune. With this combination of planets Sandra and Jesse both feel that they are meant to be together. Perhaps they believe that it is a union of their souls. This is the height of romantic love. However, with romantic love there is always the possibility of disillusionment. Sandra and Jesse are likely to stumble across obstacles in this relationship because of unrealistic and overly idealistic expectations of each other. It is difficult for them to maintain the heights of love first attained at the beginning of the relationship. Misunderstandings can easily arise. After the first flush of love Sandra feels that her emotional needs are being ignored, that Jesse does not understand her. It is even possible that Sandra feels that Jesse is being deceptive in some manner. There is a danger that Jesse does feel the need to hide behind a facade, failing to be his true self. Perhaps Jesse feels that he cannot live up to Sandra’s expectations. Despair within this relationship needs to be avoided by both Sandra and Jesse facing their feelings of loss in previous relationships. They need to face the problems honestly in order to avoid the breakdown of trust and ultimately the relationship. As a result Sandra and Jesse may be able to recapture their sense of belonging together which was so strong in the initial stages of their union.

Warning for Sandra and Jesse

The Sandra Bullock and Jesse James synastry chart shows both the attractions and the complications. It is an extremely volatile relationship and does include the possibility of violence — not unlike many other passionate pairings. There have been some reports that Sandra is fearful and hiring bodyguards etc. — a good idea while everything is so intense.

One danger right now is that the current Uranus/Saturn opposition is aggravating some of the flash points in the two charts and involves both depressive and impulsive elements.

The other worry that James’ Solar Return for today’s birthday has 16 Sagittarius on the Ascendant, the same degree as his birth Mars – the planet most associated with anger and rash action.

Brangelina – is it over – and does it matter?

Whether or not the relationship between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is ‘over’ matters to the rest of us because it is an example of the challenges of relating in this intense time.

We are close to the end of a 24,000 year cycle and it is time to ‘finish’ things, to resolve karmic situations that may have existed for many, many lifetimes. (The cycle ends December 21, 2012)

We aren’t starting new things in this lifetime. We don’t have decades to work through unfamiliar situations. We are drawn to those activities and those individuals we have known before and with whom we have unfinished business. The energy is there for a quick resolution to old and tangled connections. Relationships at this time are intense, immediate and may be short-lived as old conditions are released.

The challenge for Brad and Angelina is that they have six children and there has been nothing in either of their personalities to indicate that they would walk away from these responsibilities. If they cannot relate to each other in a traditional form, they have to construct a relationship that will allow their children to thrive.

RELATIONSHIP CHART

The astrological point of view is not to say whether or not the rumor is true but to describe the synastry between the two charts.

SYNASTRY

RFK has Taurus rising so he is a Taurus personality, strongly attracted to a Scorpio personality. JOK has Scorpio rising so she is a Scorpio personality, strongly attracted to a Taurus personality. This magnetic combination is really, really, good or absolutely terrible.

RFK’s Mercury (communication) is within a degree as JOK’s Pluto (her ruling planet) – With Scorpio rising, JOK was a very private person but she would be able to talk to RFK.

RFK’s Venus is Trine JOK’s Mars – a nice aspect of compatibility and chemistry.

RFK’s Pluto Sextile JOK’s Mars – another aspect of compatibility and chemistry but more powerful. JOK’s Mars (sexual drive) was in the very picky sign of Virgo…she wouldn’t be at all attracted to anyone without this kind of strong aspect.

RFK’s Saturn is on JOK’s South node so, for believers in reincarnation, they had definitely been together in previous lifetimes. He would ‘feel’ like a father or protective figure which must have been most comforting considering what she had been through.

RFK’s Neptune made a beautiful Grand Trine out of JOK’s Moon and Saturn. The Neptune/Moon connection is a soul connection and strong psychic bond — totally necessary for a Scorpio Sun and Scorpio Ascendant.

RFK’s Uranus square JOK’s Venus – an exciting, jarring aspect for a transition relationship. It is meant to move the partners into new understandings of themselves but not meant to be permanent or to take a traditional form.

Michelle Obama

By the numbers:

Michelle is an 11/2 destiny. Eleven is a ‘master number’ that always holds its own value as well as the value of the two.

The 11 is charismatic, inspired, spiritual, excited and can sometimes be impractical unless, like Michelle, the 11 is combined with other strong numbers. The 2, the day-to-day expression of the 11/2, is diplomatic and sensitive and represents the qualities of a good partner or manager, the ability to stand back and let others lead the way.

Michelle’s personality is 8. She is strong with natural executive abilities. She needs to be in control.

Michelle is not missing any numbers. This doesn’t mean that she does not have things to learn in this life but that lessons are not concentrated in one or more particular areas.

By the planets:

We don’t have a birth time for Michelle so we construct a chart called a Solar Chart.   This chart puts the Sun where the ascendant would be in a Natal chart and the houses start with the birth sign. This chart is a valid chart and is actually better for seeing actual physical events while the Natal chart is better for interpreting the effect or purpose of the events. The weakness of the Solar Chart is that there is no Ascendant and we can’t know the placement of the Moon as it moves a degree every two hours.

Michelle’s Sun is Capricorn: old when you are young, young when you are old. Capricorn children usually get the message that they have to *do something* so they usually grow up determined to succeed. (Note: The full moon last night fell on Michelle’s sun, i.e. put her in the spotlight so that is perhaps why I am doing this now, using prep work that I set aside months ago.)

The Moon/Venus/Mars planets in Michelle’s chart show that she is creative and wants to be inspired by anything she does and is attracted to partners who are idealistic, charismatic and unique.  She doesn’t have strong aspects between these planets and her very practical Capricorn and Virgo planets so it is hard for her to integrate all of herself into her day-to-day life at any one time.

The Synastry with Barack

Barack is missing a 7 and would look to a partner who represents that number. Michelle has a 7 but only as the energy that she expresses, i.e. she *looks* like a 7.

Barack’s Ascendant is 17 Scorpio and Michelle’s Neptune is 17 Scorpio. Ebertin calls this combination ‘mutual delusion, mutual make-believe, deception and deceit’ so there are, at the least, some illusions about their relationship.

There is a trine between their Venuses which is nice as Venus is the planet that most represents the love nature. There is also a compatibility in that neither chart expresses a lot of emotion but their Moons are square to each other so, on a day-to-day basis, they would get on each other’s nerves.

Barack’s Saturn is one degree from Michelle’s Sun, a classic hook There is always an important Saturn connection between people who marry as it indicates they have lessons to learn from each other.

By the numbers…no.

Barack is an 11/2 destiny born on a 4.

This is a good combination of inspiration and practicality. He is a great partner with mixed feelings about a leadership role.

Clinton is a 3 destiny born on an 8. She is charismatic, loves the spotlight and her 8 personality needs to be in control.

By the numbers, the ‘dream ticket’ would be Clinton as president and Obama as vice-president.

And by the stars…no as well.

Obama and Clinton certainly empower each other. Obama’s Sun falls right on Clinton’s powerful Mars/Pluto conjunction which makes them excellent competitors.

In many ways this is a powerful combination as evidenced by the tremendous energy of the campaign-to-date. The drawback of the combination is that Hillary Clinton can literally make or break Barack Obama’s career or reputation (C’s Saturn on O’s mid-heaven). This could manifest as a mentor relationship (with Hillary the mentor) which is probably not the relationship that the President of the United States, most powerful person on the planet, wants. And Hillary doesn’t need to be allied with someone who activates her ‘baggage’, a great word for Saturn.

Jeremiah A. Wright, pastor of Chicago’s United Church of Christ and long term pastor and friend to Barack Obama, is the center of a news storm as a result of several nationally broadcast appearances.

Wright’s dramatic manner of preaching is his Mercury in Libra, next to his Moon, opposite Mars and trine Jupiter.

The synastry between Obama and Wright shows a lot of positive aspects – so many trines! Most of the difficult aspects are ones that you see in the synastry of parents and their children and have to do with the ‘new’ versus the ‘old’.

There are also a lot of Venus squares. Venus squares are not difficult but represent ‘too much’ or ‘over’…over-indulgence, over-spending, over-eating etc. In synastry, it is too people who trust too much, let too much slide, indulge each other too much. The most important number connection between those involved in a serious realtionship has to do with the missing numbers. Angelina Jolie is not missing any and Brad Pitt is missing the 6 and the 8 so he would be strongly attracted to those elements expressed in another individual. Jolie does have a 6 as an inner desire but the strongest connection probably has to do with this period in her life. From 2005 to 2013, Jolie is in an 8 Pinnacle and a 6 Cycle. Pinnacles and Cycles both act as mini-destiny numbers for the period they cover.

By the stars:

Jolie is a Gemini and Pitt is a Sagittarian…natural partners. They are both adventurous, curious and love their personal freedom. These two signs together often result in a relationship based on friendship more than a deeply emotional connection.

The Moon signs show whether you can live together as they represent emotional needs and the day-to-day habits and conditions that meet your emotional needs. COMPOSITE CHART

The Composite chart is ruled by Venus whose first-house location and aspect to Mars indicates this is a love relationship that is very important to both individuals — but there are very heavy ‘karmic’ aspects (Saturn opposite Venus, Pluto/North Node in 12th house opposite the Sun) and volatile (Uranus conjunct the Ascendant, Mars conjunct the Moon). Other than the heavy aspects, there aren’t that many connections between the planets in the composite chart which indicates they don’t have that many avenues to work out any difficulties. This is one of those relationships that works very well in the ideal but is very heavy and complicated for down-to-earth, day-to-day reality.

The marriage is over. Instead of the $225 million that Heather expected, the judge awarded $50 million dollars…plus $70,000 per year for their daughter Beatrice, $1,200,000 per year for Heather and $5,000,000 to Heather so she could buy a property in Longon.

Heather was not pleased at the judgement. She reportedly doused Paul’s lawyer with a pitcher of water before leaving the courtroom.(Picture of the damp lawyer.)

It is not sad that the marriage is over but that it happened in the first place. There is almost no connection between their charts, certainly not the personal planets usually involved in a relationship (Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn) and there were no significant relationship transits affecting Paul’s chart when they met in April, 1999. At that time, Heather had Pluto conjunct Venus, which can signal a powerful new love relationship but can also signify a dramatic change in material resources.
