I first looked at AC’s chart when he was covering the oil spill in the Gulf and I worried about his personal health. Now again, and in the period covered by the same Solar Return, he is in a perilous situation with the possible nuclear fallout problems in Japan.

Anderson Cooper is a Gemini. He is endlessly curious and a great communicator. The fine-boned, youthful appearance, often associated with Gemini, works very well on television.

Mercury (the planet that rules Gemini) is in Cancer. It is impossible for AC to separate heart from head which makes him such a soulful communicator.

Mercury sits in the Ninth house, which rules those things that expand the mind — other countries, nationalities, religions, higher education — and indicates a perpetual student and explorer. (full chart)

AC’s ascendant is in Libra so he approaches new situations with a desire to be pleasant and diplomatic.

The question raised in the last blog was whether Anderson Cooper is in danger now because of the time spent near the gulf where airborn pollutants are reported to be at dangerous levels.

These pollutants would be represented by Neptune and Pluto.

Neptune, in AC’s Solar return, is conjunct the ascendant and opposite Mars, which is an indication of possible threat. It is six house/twelfth house so it involves that-which-is-hidden and work and health issues.

His secondary progressed Moon is conjunct his natal Neptune. This is a time of extreme sensitivity; both emotionally and to everything in the environment.

His Solar Arc Neptune is opposite his Mercury — a creative, sensitive, inspirational time that may also be confusing.

Solar Arc Saturn opposite his Neptune represents physical reality vs. dreams and illusions.

AC also has Pluto opposite Mercury. In most people, Pluto opposite Mercury in a period of time when what you think and communicate is strongly challenged, often forcing a whole new direction in interests. With AC, it is that and, because Mercury rules his Gemini Sun, it is also a personal challenge. (Any Pluto transit demands that you become stronger than you ever thought you wanted to be!)

All of these current influences are once-in-a-lifetime (except secondary progressed Moon which is once in approximately 30 years). All of them are potentially life-changing and all of them indicate this is a period of vulnerability.

Timothy John Russert Jr. was born May 7, 1950 at Buffalo N.Y. and died June 13, 2008. There were three major transits affecting him at the time:

Pluto opposite Uranus: A time of dramatic change in an individual’s life. In this case, Pluto is in Russert’s Eighth house which has to do with issues of death and transformation.

Uranus opposite Mars: This transit is often experienced as exciting and dramatic but is stressful because the energy is rather manic and may lead to over-exertion or taking chances.

Saturn opposite Jupiter: May be experienced as a time of focus or a time of stress as delays and obstacles slow down expansion.

The first two transits are powerful and expansive and the Saturn transit is a bottleneck.

Tim Russert

Russert had a Destiny of 9 and Personality of 7, both spiritual or mystical numbers, not usually associated with a life in the public eye, but a good illustration of the charisma that comes with a full expression of self. All of Russert’s friends spoke of his strong Catholic faith. “7′s” always need some form of spiritual channel, probably because they are so sensitive and have so many questions about life that they need some sort of philisophical framework or they become mired in confusion. The 9 Destiny may become maudlin or depressed if their attention remains on self.

The 9 Destiny combined with no missing numbers indicate an old soul in a completion lifetime.

For Coast to Coast AM fans, the charts of Art Bell and his brand new daughter Asia Rayne Bell:

They were born 62 years apart and in different time zones but they both have 13 Virgo on the Ascendant. (If Asia had been born 4 minutes earlier or later that wouldn’t be the case.)

They both have Mercury, the ruler of their chart in the Tenth house (different signs but only 4 degrees apart).

Pluto takes about 248 years to travel through the 360 degrees of the chart but Pluto’s position when Asia was born was *one minute* from an exact opposition to her dad’s Mercury. (30 degrees per sign, 60 minutes per degree). This is a intense connection that will have a transformative effect on Art.

We now have Don Imus’ exact time of birth (thanks to Lois Rodden) so we can produce the true birth chart.

Don Imus: Natal chart

The Saturn effect

The Ascendant is a very important point that can only be determined if the exact time of birth is known. When Imus uttered the infamous phrase, Saturn was half a degree away from an exact square to his ascendant.

A Saturn square always makes you feel uncertain, tired and depressed; always brings up ghosts from the past; always tests you to determine if you have changed your mind about what you are trying to accomplish. A square to the ascendant is also a square to the descendant — a me-thee challenge — what do I owe you and what do I owe myself?

In July, Saturn moves into the culmination part of the chart (Tenth house) and remains there for about three years. Seeds Imus planted starting back in 1984 will be harvested during that period.

Saturn in the Tenth house will reward exactly what has been physically manifested in the past 27 years of effort … all the good and all the bad.

The lawsuit

Imus had to sue. The Pluto opposition Venus mentioned in the first post indicates that he has powerful opponents and it requires him to be stronger than he ever thought he wanted or needed to be.

In September, Pluto will change direction and make another challenging aspect that will last approximately two years (Pluto inconjunct Imus’ Sun and Pluto).

Imus’ challenge is whether or not he believes in himself and is willing to stand up for what he believes. He has to fight. The planets involved represent everything he is and everything he believes.

Pluto opposite Venus: What you value — what you love — what you possess — are all challenged by powerful forces seemingly beyond your personal control.

Pluto opposite Venus is a life-altering experience that happens once in 248 years. It takes about two years to pass completely and, by the time it has passed, a large part of your life has been transformed.

Pluto opposite Venus can be traumatic — like an earthquake or volcano. It shakes up everything enough to force you to examine what you truly love and what you truly value.

Pluto transits are often painful but they always bring you close to who you truly are at a soul level.

At 6:14 am, April 4, 2007, Imus uttered the phrase that was to change his life. A chart for that time shows Pluto right at the top of the chart, a position signifying position in the world and career.

Don Imus has a 40 year record of being outrageous, opinionated, super un-politically correct, very well informed and a tough interviewer. For four hours a day he improvised like a jazz musician and sometimes hit a sour note.

CBS had just renewed his multi-million dollar contract.

His listeners knew what to expect.

None of his listeners complained about the comment — not because they agreed with him but they knew the context and they knew Imus.

The complaint came from a group called ‘Media Matters for America’ that had decided they should be the judge of what should be on the air. They monitored and taped the Imus show every day, waiting for his inevitable slip.

From the Wall Street Journal online:

At 6:14 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, relatively few people were tuned into the “Imus in the Morning Show” when Don Imus referred to the Rutgers women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed ho’s.”

Ryan Chiachiere was. A 26-year-old researcher in Washington, D.C., for liberal watchdog organization Media Matters for America, he was assigned to monitor Mr. Imus’s program.Mr. Chiachiere clipped the video, alerted his bosses and started working on a blog post
for the organization’s Web site.

From Al Sharpton:

It is our feeling that this is only the beginning. We must have a broad discussion on what is permitted and not permitted in terms of the airwaves.

From Tom Delay:

If Don Imus falls to the pleas of political correctness, we’re taking Rosie O’Donnell down with him.
