The Moon is the operating system.  It is programmed to absorb its environment for the first couple of years of life and literally grow the connections necessary to function where the baby was born and under the conditions that he will live.  There is no filter or judgement…the Moon is wide open. The baby cleaves emotionally and psychically to its family and absorbs all the rules and conditions around him.  Around the age of two, the child is able to metaphorically close the door on his way to becoming an autonomous human being with all the mental and emotional connections formed that he needs for his life.

Like any good operating system, the Moon functions in the background automatically sorting out what ‘fits’, according to the pattern established in the first two years of life.  

We are programmed to expect that early conditions are more or less repeated throughout life.   We make decisions constantly without even knowing there is an operating system and, when we get fed up and decide we want to change the direction of our life, we may not realize that our decision-making function operates at a pre-verbal level and can only be re-programmed through visualization or some form of soul work.  (See:  ’A Child Cries’)

Williams was born with a dramatic, expressive, creative Leo moon. The conditions that ‘programmed’ him are represented by a Saturn opposition, which shows that what he wanted was delayed or restricted. He learned that his desires are not important and he must ‘earn’ everything, even his mother’s love.

So Williams was very, very good. He grew up to be someone who obeyed and who respected structure. He achieved what Saturn demanded: a respectable role in society.

The trick to functioning fully is to express all of your chart; at first the ones that flow easily but, eventually, even the ones that are most challenging.

Williams Leo Moon probably didn’t get much attention as it was easier to work the Saturn side of the opposition then it was to find a stage or a spotlight. When a transit came along that made it impossible to ignore his emotional needs, he had no avenues of expression. He learned that what he wanted wasn’t important and maybe even that what he wanted wasn’t acceptable so he found a way to meet these needs in secret — with the focussed power of a hungry infant.

David Russell Williams was sentenced today to two concurrent life sentences for the first-degree murders of Cpl. Marie-France Comeau and Jessica Lloyd, 10 years each for two sexual assaults and a year each for 84 other crimes, most often break-ins and the theft of lingerie.

Until he was charged with these crimes, Williams was commanding officer of a major military base in Canada. As far as we know, his life of crime did not start until he was in his 40′s and he was able to maintain a very responsible, visible career at the same time as he was committing horrendous crimes.

This is so strange and so sad and  I will be looking at this case from a number of angles for the next few weeks.

MISSING NUMBERS

One of the first places  I look is at Missing or Karma numbers.  These numbers represents the lessons that an individual has come into this life to learn. 

Most people are missing one or two numbers but Williams is missing four.  Two lessons have to do with relating to others in a healthy, balanced manner;  one has to do with developing a healthy spiritual life rather than escapist behaviour and the other has to do with using power and money wisely. 

A whole book could be written about each of the missing numbers — they sound simple but are in fact very profound — so the following are simply capsules.

 You are missing a Two.

The number Two represents the traits of diplomacy, sensitivity and the ability to function well in a partnership or co-operative situation. It is an awareness of the thoughts and feelings of those around you and the ability to live and work with others without always having your own way.

You encounter both sides of the ‘Six’ in those who are nurturing, unselfish and able to create a warm emotional base and in those who are judgmental, intolerant and self-righteous.

You experience family or marital difficulties that focus your attention on what is necessary for healthy, supportive relationships and why these relationships are important to you.

You are missing a Seven.

Missing a ‘Seven’ involves overcoming a fear or resistance to spiritual matters and learning to be alone without being lonely.

You encounter both sides of the ‘Seven’ in those who are spiritual and discriminating and in those who are escapist, critical of others and overindulge in alcohol or drugs.

You experience situations where the only successful path is to spend quiet time alone and learn to depend on your inner resources.

You are looking for inner peace and, as you expand your spiritual nature and your ability to enjoy your own company, the craving for artificial forms of escape automatically lessen.

You are missing an Eight.

Missing an ‘Eight’ involves learning how to use power and money wisely.

You encounter those who are strong, organized and responsible with the ability to draw financial resources and the ability to use those resources wisely. You also encounter those who abuse their power over others or who squander resources.

You experience wild income fluctuations until you learn how to use money wisely and times when the only successful path is to recognize your own power and move out of the control of others.

Holly never made it home. Family, friends, neighbours and police searched through the night but no sign was found until the next morning when a bags containing parts of her body were found on the Toronto waterfront.

Holly Jones

Holly was born on September 14, 1992 at 4:30 am EDT in Toronto. (Birth time source = Holly’s aunt)

With a Sun, Mercury, Jupiter stellium trine to a Neptune/Uranus combo, Holly was expressive, popular, bouncy and cheerful.

Was Holly’s fate in her birthchart?

Holly’s Eighth house (death or transformation) is ruled by Neptune which, along with Uranus and the Vertex, is the focal point of a t-square with Moon and Venus. Uranus and Neptune are both planets that have to do with expanded consciousness and the Vertex is a point of ‘fated connection’ .

Holly's Murder

The time used for the murder chart comes from a 61 page statement made by Michael Briere at the time of his arrest in June, 2003:

“On the 12th…I always had the fantasy of having sexual relations with a little girl. So, I just got carried away, and I walked outside and Holly was…I didn’t know her, I’d never seen her before…it’s just coincidence.”

“I think I left my house maybe just a little bit before 6, 10 to 6, 5 to 6…and she was right there. So, I would say she was probably gone 25 minutes after, say around 6:25 – 6:30.”

Influences at time of murder:

  • Pluto has progressed by Solar Arc to 1 Sagittarius 08, inconjunct Holly’s Natal Mars at 1 Cancer 12. Pluto inconjunct Mars is transformation through force majeur.

  • Solar Return is ruled by an Eighth house Jupiter, conjunct Vertex (fated encounter) and opposite Nepune, which may indicate confusion or vulnerability.
  • Pluto is conjunct the SR ascendant; Saturn conjunct the SR descendant. Both are square to Mars, indicating a power struggle, oppression.
  • Solar Point at the time of murder was 20 Leo, in the Eighth house, and square to Holly’s natal Pluto.
  • Mercury is right on the mid-heaven, trine to Neptune and the N Node, representing the publicity, public displays of sorrow and a permanent memorial constructed in Holly’s neighbourhood.

Holly Jones and Michael Briere

Micheal Briere lived in the same neighbourhood as Holly. He was employed as a software developer and had no criminal record.

The police had surveyed the neighbourhood, asking the men for voluntary samples for DNA testing. Briere refused twice and he was arrested after the police tested a Pepsi container that he discarded. He confessed when confronted with the evidence.

Because we don’t know Briere’s time of birth, we don’t know exactly where his Sun was located but it is within one degree of 7 Libra and within one degree of the Moon in the murder chart.

Synastry

• the strongest connection between the two charts is Briere’s Pluto/Uranus conjunction on top of Holly’s Mercury, Sun, Jupiter.
• Pluto is the same degree as Holly’s Sun at 21 Virgo – one tries to suppress the other, separation, often through force majeur — Reinhold Ebertin
