  Pluto in Capricorn is a big part of the explanation. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was 1762 to 1777 when both Canada and the US became nations.

  There is an interesting article called 'Road to Independence, a chronology of events of the next 13 years.' that covers almost exactly that period of time.

Chiron and the Health Care Vote

Chiron is classed as both an asteroid and a comet and is located between Saturn and Uranus. It was discovered in 1977 although subsequent review of photos showed that it had actually been photographed as early as 1895.

In mythology, Chiron is the ‘wounded healer’ and, in astrology, is the place in the chart of an individual or a country where there is pain and a need for healing.

America is facing many challenges but much of the energy of the president, congress and the senate has been focussed on health care — possibly because Chiron is prominent in the American chart this year. It is not only conjunct the ruler of the American chart in this year’s Solar Return but it has moved by Solar Arc Progression to 12 degrees Sagittarius which is the exact degree of the USA ascendant, a position it would take only once in 360 years.

  Dayel Kirk has a fun freebie on her site, The Reluctant Astrologer. She gives you the astrology of your address. She takes only the number from your address (no street name) and assigns it to the 360 degree zodiac. If you live in an apartment, only the apartment number is used, not the street number.

  If you are a numerologist, you will find using the zodiac degree a very interesting addition to your number meanings.

  My address number corresponds with 14 Pisces. Dayel describes this as:

  A Pisces address is a place for rest or escape, relaxation, regeneration, creative expression, spiritual pursuits or solitude.

  At this address, I have cared for elderly parents, started a small theatre and this blog, studied various religious texts, delved into spirituality, and found a great deal of solitude. It’s much more relaxing than my previous address (perhaps too much so) and has recently been certified as a wildlife habitat.
