Earthquake at L’Aquila, Italy
A strong earthquake struck Italy at 3:32 am, epicenter near L’Aquila, an historic town with a population of about 70,000 people. Twelve hours later, the death toll has risen over 100 with thousands homeless.
The chart for the earthquake is ruled by Saturn opposite Mars, Uranus.
- Saturn is the old, the traditional, structures, those things that appear permanent.
- Uranus is dramatic change.
- Mars is energy, action, passion.
This Saturn, Mars, Uranus combo does not strongly affect Italy’s chart unless you consider the Solar Arc Progressed chart.
- the ruler of the ‘land’ (4th house) of Italy has recently become Venus.
- Progressed Venus is now 21 Virgo next to Progressed Saturn at 23 Virgo
- Transitting Uranus has been opposite Progressed Saturn for a while (and there are reports that there have been tremors in the area since March 20) but it needed the energy of fast moving Mars for action to materialize.
I found it very interesting the the Solar Arc Progressed chart shows all the points *exactly* sextile to the original chart. Because a Solar Arc Progression moves approximately one degree a year, this would happen sometime around 60 years but there would only be a few weeks when the sextile was exact.
