Sean Penn

Sean Penn is a Leo, the most dramatic sign. His Moon is in Cancer, which indicates very strong emotions, blocked by a Saturn opposition. His Sagittarian ascendant shows he is endlessly curious, adventurous, optimistic — and a warrior.

Penn’s quirkiness comes from his Sun next to Uranus, which is like having Sun in Aquarius. He can detach from self and see the larger picture; he is futuristic and idealistic and he does not worry about what others think or believe.

Penn’s intensity comes from a Venus/Pluto conjunction in Virgo and his famous anger from the Mars that squares both.

Current Influences

On the night that Penn won the Oscar for best actor, Uranus was exactly inconjunct his natal Uranus, something that would only occur once or twice in a lifetime.

Uranus is the planet of change. When Uranus makes any aspect to any planet, there is a break from the past and new influences and energy. (The Uranus square, around the age of 40, is the period of time referred to as the ‘Mid-Life Crisis’ when it feels so necessary to do ‘something else’.)

Uranus inconjunct Uranus is a time of adjusting to change. Some people would not particularly notice this time as it refers to the changes outside the individual. In Penn’s case, it is more personal because Uranus is so involved with his Sun (conjunct), his Ascendant (trine) and the ruler of his chart (Jupiter trine) and he becomes part of those changes. The changes change him and he changes them. For example, he won the Oscar for his role as gay activist and leader Harvey Milk at a time when Proposition 8 has just been passed in California, revoking the right for gays to marry.

“I think it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect, and anticipate their great shame, and the shame in their grandchildren’s eyes if they continue that way of support. We’ve got to have equal rights for everyone. “I’m very, very proud to live in a country that is willing to elect an elegant man President (Obama), and a country who, for all its toughness, creates courageous artists,” said Penn.

By the Numbers:

Destiny: — Five – passion, creativity, charisma, restlessness, curiosity, drama

Personality: — Eight – power, control, management skills, ambition

Missing or Karma Numbers:

  • Four – the need to learn the pleasure of the process; to learn patience; to learn to focus; learn to structure, budget, plan and organize
  • Six – the need to learn to value emotional ties and family relationships; the need to learn to love unconditionally and the need to learn to be of service to others.
  • Eight – the need to learn about power and money and how to use both effectively.

Current Influences

Penn is in a One Year, starting a new Nine Year Cycle and also starting a new Pinnacle. (There are four Pinnacles in each lifetime and they indicate the influence for that period.) This Pinnacle is a Six, which is a period when there is a strong desire and need to be of service to others; to be involved in emotional and family responsibilites and to learn about loving unconditionally. Penn is missing a Six so this is a very important time for him.

Astrology of an Address ~ Dayel Kirk

    July 8, 2009

Dayel Kirk has a fun freebie on her site, The Reluctant Astrologer. She gives you the astrology of your address. She takes only the number from your address (no street name) and assigns it to the 360 degree zodiac. If you live in an apartment, only the apartment number is used, not the street number.

If you are a numerologist, you will find using the zodiac degree a very interesting addition to your number meanings.

My address number corresponds with 14 Pisces. Dayel describes this as:

A Pisces address is a place for rest or escape, relaxation, regeneration, creative expression, spiritual pursuits or solitude.

At this address, I have cared for elderly parents, started a small theatre and this blog, studied various religious texts, delved into spirituality, and found a great deal of solitude. It’s much more relaxing than my previous address (perhaps too much so) and has recently been certified as a wildlife habitat.

Thanks, Dayel! Please visit The Reluctant Astrologer to get the astrology of your address, along with some other freebies and some excellent posts on current astrological trends and personalities.
