  Pluto in Capricorn is a big part of the explanation. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was 1762 to 1777 when both Canada and the US became nations.

  There is an interesting article called 'Road to Independence, a chronology of events of the next 13 years.' that covers almost exactly that period of time.

A New Danger for India and Pakistan

The next few days are very dangerous for India and Pakistan.

…As they come out of this enervating period, both countries are now experiencing Pluto opposite Mars (once in 250 years), a powerful time of change through confrontation which can be very positive. The danger of this transit is there is so much energy, ego and ambition involved. The energy of a Pluto/Mars transit wants to dominate and this urge to control can cause power struggles with other powerful entities…

Until December 28, Mars is moving closer to Pluto so they have Pluto opposite Mars, a long term volatile transit, exacerbated by the fast moving Mars. A slow moving transit always needs one of the faster, closer planets to make an aspect and release the potential energy.

  Dayel Kirk has a fun freebie on her site, The Reluctant Astrologer. She gives you the astrology of your address. She takes only the number from your address (no street name) and assigns it to the 360 degree zodiac. If you live in an apartment, only the apartment number is used, not the street number.

  If you are a numerologist, you will find using the zodiac degree a very interesting addition to your number meanings.

  My address number corresponds with 14 Pisces. Dayel describes this as:

  A Pisces address is a place for rest or escape, relaxation, regeneration, creative expression, spiritual pursuits or solitude.

  At this address, I have cared for elderly parents, started a small theatre and this blog, studied various religious texts, delved into spirituality, and found a great deal of solitude. It’s much more relaxing than my previous address (perhaps too much so) and has recently been certified as a wildlife habitat.
