Just before Ike hit Texas, the news said 140 thousand did NOT evacuate the coastal areas. Thousands of homes were swept away and others are in shambles, some being submerged for 36 hours, yet they say only 50 people were killed by Ike and this includes the death toll in other States? The numbers do not ad up. I also saw a news clip on a reporter complaining about NOT being allowed into these destressed areas nor did the survivors like the Sherman couple on Crystal Beach see any rescue searches of their area for at least 5 days but saw looters who had no problem getting in.
