Hurricane Ike
Hurricane Ike is gathering strength as it approaches the Gulf of Mexico coast of the United States. The forecasts are dire and millions are evacuating but there have been many false alarms. Is this another one?
Premise: Based on the Solar Return, there will be far more damage than Hurricane Gustav which hit on September 1.
USA Natal and Solar Return
Logic:
- My technique for timing events in a Solar Return is to place the ‘Solar point’ on the Ascendant at the time of the return and progress it approximately one degree per day. (To be precise, add the difference between the current Sun position and the Solar return Sun position and add that to the Ascendant.)
- Based on this technique, the Solar point entered the Second House on August 12 and will stay there until September 22.
- The Second House concerns the nation’s wealth. This Second House is ruled by Uranus in the Third (inland transportation and communication) square Pluto in the First (the country as a whole) and Mercury in the Sixth (public health and well-being, national services).
- When Hurricane Gustav hit, the Solar point was approximately 22 Aquarius and conjunct Neptune in the Solar Return. Neptune represesents a lot of things including water and the ocean but, in this case, Neptune has no harsh angles with points in the Solar Return or in the US natal chart.
- Hurricane Ike will hit when the Solar point is approximately 3 Virgo, opposite the Mars/Saturn conjunction in the Eighth house.
- Saturn and the Eighth house in a national chart both represent (among other things) death and mourning.
Conclusion:
This storm will cause loss of life and have a severe effect on business, communication and transportation.

Very good…this is the first astro mention Ive seen so far.
Just before Ike hit Texas, the news said 140 thousand did NOT evacuate the coastal areas. Thousands of homes were swept away and others are in shambles, some being submerged for 36 hours, yet they say only 50 people were killed by Ike and this includes the death toll in other States? The numbers do not ad up. I also saw a news clip on a reporter complaining about NOT being allowed into these destressed areas nor did the survivors like the Sherman couple on Crystal Beach see any rescue searches of their area for at least 5 days but saw looters who had no problem getting in. Some of them he recognized ! I wish you had shown the charts. It would be interesting to track these mysteries astrologically!
