Eliot Spitzer
It was reported today that Eliot Spitzer, Democratic governor of New York and former New York Attorney General, had been involved with a prostitution ring. The New York Times reported that Spitzer was caught in a wiretap, arranging for the services of a high class prostitute.
Even without his exact birth time we can see that Spitzer currently has a Saturn/Pluto conjunction in his chart. Saturn keeps track of what an individual has *actually achieved* in this material world. It focuses attention to whatever part of the chart it is currently transitting. In this case, Saturn was moving through the third house, the part of the chart that has to do with communicating with others so it is interesting that his downfall came through a wiretap.
Saturn is often called the planet of karma because it rewards long term efforts and exposes mistakes.
Transitting Saturn is now conjunct (next to) Spitzer’s Pluto. This indicates a period when power and expansion are restricted. Limits are placed. Powerful figures outside the individual are involved. Life changes dramatically. It is the end of one period and the beginning of the next.

Since we just had a New Moon in Pisces in square to Spitzer’s Sun-Mercury, I am also looking at his natal Neptune in Scorpio in square
to his Moon, Venus and Mars, Uranus in Leo and Neptune rules Pisces, along with deception, corruption, and yes, sexual activities. What was he thinking? Obviously he was not and decided he could get away with all that Leo chartm. Oh my—ego does have a hold on some people, doesn’t it? And Saturn wins all the time. Transit Pluto now in Capricorn really does destroy careers and corruption, now we have an example of what Saturn’s ruler can do—which is
why I refer to it as the “bulldozer” planet. Previews of things to come.
It’s clear based on his facial characteristics that Spitzer has Capricorn rising. He has the pointed chin, seemingly down-turned eyes, and a prominent bony nose. I also would put his Saturn in his 12th house, a house where Saturn doesn’t bode well. The key to Spitzer’s downfall is his Venus and Mars in Leo square Neptune in Scorpio: trouble from secret compulsive sexual urges. Also an afflicted Neptune on the Midheaven (his is there) can bring a scandulous downfall in one’s career. A tragic chart since there is much in it that is good and positive.
Uranus in Pisces will tear up his life and then Saturn in Virgo will do the rest — divorce and financial problems?
I agree re: Moon, Venus, Mars square Neptune. It’s amazing he could achieve so much with that in his natal chart. It’s a self-destructive aspect. Sex, delusion, oblivion, dishonesty.
Speaking of Neptune problems, I’m worried about what Obama’s Sun / Neptune aspect might bode.
Sorry this is off the topic.
Another influence would be the Uranus conjunction to Venus/Mars/Moon, all in Leo.
Adds potential for kinkiness, insatiable behaviors, and sometimes may indicate same sex attraction energies as well. Steven Arroyo talks about these aspects pretty accurately in his books.
The challenge is really in the integration of the energies. There are no bad aspects in the chart. The question is channeling the energies present, and then integrating, and finally transmuting them. Spitzer’s issue really was that he repressed one side of himself, the wild side, so to speak, and focused on the Leo ‘rulemaker’ instead. Hopefully, he can come to terms with this in his future.
