Today’s Earthquake Map

The USGS earthquake site is on my list of favorites. I check it a few times a week, particularly around a new or full moon when there is more activity than normal.

There’s always a cluster of quakes around Alaska, the western coast of the US, the ‘ring of fire’, as well as other assorted sites around the planet.

Today’s map shows a lot of activity… 225 earthquakes, magnitude 4 and up in the past seven days. It seemed to me that there were a lot of big yellow squares (mag 5+) in places where earthquakes aren’t that frequent.

In this era of earth changes, the number of earthquakes per year has definitely been rising:

In 1990, there were 16,590 earthquakes
In 2000, there were 22,256 earthquakes
In 2007, there were 29,671 earthquakes

‘Everything is connected’ is one of the prime tenets of astrology…by looking at a pattern ‘over here’ you have clues to what is happening ‘over there’. Becoming familiar with the pattern of earthquakes is a way of tuning into the stream of earth events, particularly now, with Pluto in Capricorn, when we may actually see changes in physical land masses.

Astrology of an Address ~ Dayel Kirk

    July 8, 2009

Dayel Kirk has a fun freebie on her site, The Reluctant Astrologer. She gives you the astrology of your address. She takes only the number from your address (no street name) and assigns it to the 360 degree zodiac. If you live in an apartment, only the apartment number is used, not the street number.

If you are a numerologist, you will find using the zodiac degree a very interesting addition to your number meanings.

My address number corresponds with 14 Pisces. Dayel describes this as:

A Pisces address is a place for rest or escape, relaxation, regeneration, creative expression, spiritual pursuits or solitude.

At this address, I have cared for elderly parents, started a small theatre and this blog, studied various religious texts, delved into spirituality, and found a great deal of solitude. It’s much more relaxing than my previous address (perhaps too much so) and has recently been certified as a wildlife habitat.

Thanks, Dayel! Please visit The Reluctant Astrologer to get the astrology of your address, along with some other freebies and some excellent posts on current astrological trends and personalities.
