Other Early Deaths and Saturn
A comment received re the Heath Ledger blog:
“Where is 17-Nov-1997 placed against Saturn and what are the effects? Where was Saturn for people like, Kurt Cobain, Jeff Buckley, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix?”
To find how Saturn is affecting your own chart is beyond the scope of this column but effects frequently associated with a Saturn transit are:
-
on a physical level: low energy, low vitality, digestive problems, aches and pains especially back and skeletal problems
-
depression
-
reappearance of unresolved childhood issues
Any Saturn transit brings your current life up against emotional, mental or physical structures that you have carried with you and asks ‘Is this structure getting in my way? Is it time to let it go?’
A Saturn transit brings the old stuff back to the surface and the opportunity to re-examine what really makes you tick.
A Saturn transit says this is exactly where you are right now…not where you hoped you were going or dreamt of being.
Saturn is not saying ‘you’re a loser and you’ll never get what you want’ but rather ‘not yet…you’re being held back by these old structures…are you ready to let them go?’
It’s necessary to let your life quiet down for a while so you can think and feel these issues. Your need for isolation is not a symptom requiring immediate medication but an opportunity.
The gift of a Saturn transit is that it shows you exactly where you are and what is standing in your way. Reality. No more rose-colored glasses. Once the transit has passed and you get some energy back, you know what changes you have to make to get where you want to go.
A look at the deaths of Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrsion.
None died when Saturn was right on the Saturn return but all died in the year of their Saturn return; all died when Saturn was within 26 degrees of its birth position and all (except Jim Morrison) had other significant Saturn transits at the time of their deaths.
An interesting note: if you include Heath Ledger, 4 of the 6 had Moon in Cancer – not at all what you would predict considering the twelve possible signs.
