Eclipse

We are currently in an ‘eclipse period’—the period that begins ten days before an eclipse and ends three days after. (Solar eclipse – March 19, 2007 2:44 GMT 28 Pisces).

An eclipse period is a sensitive and intense time — like a full moon times ten — particularly if it hits something in your chart. It is not a good time to make commitments as the energy is changing and what seems so important now will shift. There will be surprises.

Both of Prince Charles’ weddings were in eclipse periods. He married Diana two days before an eclipse and was supposed to marry Camilla the day of another eclipse but postponed that wedding to attend the funeral of Pope John Paul.

There is a lunar and a solar eclipse approximately every six months. We compare the degree of the eclipse to any given chart and can see a strong effect that will continue until the next set of eclipses.

In August of 1979 there was a solar eclipse that exactly (within one degree) squared the sun on my father’s chart. During the eclipse period, I had a series of three powerful dreams that foretold his death four months later.

Jim Berkland at www.syzygyjob.com has made a career out of earthquake prediction and uses the moon as one of
the more important factors, particularly new moons, full moons and eclipses.

The Lunar eclipse on March 3, 2007 was 13 degrees Virgo, less than two degrees from the ‘nadir’ in the chart for Indonesia (which represents the physical land) and square the Ascendant. Indonesia was struck by a large earthquake less than 3 days later.

Astrologer Buzz Meyers placed a great deal of emphasis on the eclipse that occurs before birth, maintaining the eclipses were times when the energy field around the earth was disrupted and the souls of those about to be born ‘came to earth’. Expectant parents may dream about their babies during this time.

Buzz said that if the eclipse was months before the birth, the new soul had time to assess the situation and choose an environment that would support what he was coming to accomplish.

If the eclipse was close to the birth, the soul has rushed into this life and may not have properly processed his last incarnation. He may not have the time to properly assess his birth parents and environment and may find that he spends a long time overcoming their effects before he can move on to his original goals. I found this particularly interesting to me as I was born the day of an eclipse!

Buzz said that there may be a ‘nightmare syndrome’ as the child has brought trauma with him into this life and is still trying to process it. There might also be a feeling of rushing toward something , a feeling of destiny or that there was something very important that they had come into this life to do. I was strongly effected by years of nightmares as a child and tormented with the feeling that there was something I was ‘supposed’ to be doing. The something turned out to be astrology but I didn’t find that out until I was in my mid-thirties.

The next lunar eclipse is August 28 (4 Pisces) and the next solar eclipse is September 11 (18 Virgo).

Astrology of an Address ~ Dayel Kirk

    July 8, 2009

Dayel Kirk has a fun freebie on her site, The Reluctant Astrologer. She gives you the astrology of your address. She takes only the number from your address (no street name) and assigns it to the 360 degree zodiac. If you live in an apartment, only the apartment number is used, not the street number.

If you are a numerologist, you will find using the zodiac degree a very interesting addition to your number meanings.

My address number corresponds with 14 Pisces. Dayel describes this as:

A Pisces address is a place for rest or escape, relaxation, regeneration, creative expression, spiritual pursuits or solitude.

At this address, I have cared for elderly parents, started a small theatre and this blog, studied various religious texts, delved into spirituality, and found a great deal of solitude. It’s much more relaxing than my previous address (perhaps too much so) and has recently been certified as a wildlife habitat.

Thanks, Dayel! Please visit The Reluctant Astrologer to get the astrology of your address, along with some other freebies and some excellent posts on current astrological trends and personalities.
