I always start with numerology

I always start an astrology consultation with numerology. It only takes a few minutes to work out the important numbers and it helps me focus, probably because numerology was where I started.

Numerology came first because astrology just didn’t work for me. I’m a Capricorn but I’m not ambitious, status seeking or security conscious which is what I thought a good Capricorn was supposed to be.

On the other hand, I am the dreamer, the idealist, the watcher that my Seven Destiny defined and, since I didn’t know enough about astrology at the time to understand how House placement and angles etc. could affect the Sun sign, I decided to work with numerology.

Even so I had reservations…how could numerology possibly work? It helped to know that letters and numbers were once considered sacred knowledge and it helped that I was compulsively driven to play around with the numbers and letters for months until the day when everything clicked for me.

A big advantage to numerology is that all that is needed is the full name at birth and the birth date. Reams of information come from the analysis of those simple elements but, for the purposes of helping me focus at the beginning of an astrology consultation, I will usually just use the Destiny, Personality and Karma numbers.

(The Destiny Number represents the life path or direction, the Personality Number is who you are and the Karma numbers represent what you are here in this lifetime to learn. )

When I have these numbers, I have a framework on which to hang the mass of material that comes from an astrological evaluation.

Numerology is a lot easier to learn and use than astrology and it doesn’t require years of study but it does help to answer questions about why we are here and what we are supposed to be learning from our life experiences.

Astrology of an Address ~ Dayel Kirk

    July 8, 2009

Dayel Kirk has a fun freebie on her site, The Reluctant Astrologer. She gives you the astrology of your address. She takes only the number from your address (no street name) and assigns it to the 360 degree zodiac. If you live in an apartment, only the apartment number is used, not the street number.

If you are a numerologist, you will find using the zodiac degree a very interesting addition to your number meanings.

My address number corresponds with 14 Pisces. Dayel describes this as:

A Pisces address is a place for rest or escape, relaxation, regeneration, creative expression, spiritual pursuits or solitude.

At this address, I have cared for elderly parents, started a small theatre and this blog, studied various religious texts, delved into spirituality, and found a great deal of solitude. It’s much more relaxing than my previous address (perhaps too much so) and has recently been certified as a wildlife habitat.

Thanks, Dayel! Please visit The Reluctant Astrologer to get the astrology of your address, along with some other freebies and some excellent posts on current astrological trends and personalities.
